This handsome postcard was received this summer from Carrol (Thanks, Carrol). It's a Crouching lion sculpted by Francesco Benaglia, and it resides in Chatsworth, Derbyshire. That's England, you know.

Here's another very old lion, also from Carrol. She photographed in
Greece, of all places, near the Parthenon.

And then Carrol found this toothless but proud beast in
Rhodes. That's Greece too, but you knew that.

Here's an email from Elsa in Sweden: "I wrote a long while back about the lions outside of the Parliament (Stortinget) in Oslo. I have since gotten a digital camera, so how about these? I had never seen anybody sitting on those lions until the day I went out to photograph them. Elsa"
